OCPDMDSP On July 21, 2014, a 2005 Hyundai Elantra with New York registration plates drove past an officer from the Ocean City Police Department, whom was stopped with a pedestrian at the intersection of Maryland Route 90 and the Assawoman Bay Bridge. The officer's vehicle, equipped with a mobile license plate reader, alerted on the Hyundai as being stolen. Police confirmed that the vehicle was stolen from Plattsburgh, New York on July 17, 2014. A short time later troopers traveling westbound on Maryland Route 90, just west of US Route 113, were able to locate and stop the vehicle without incident. The driver and passenger were identified and taken into custody. In addition to being charged with the theft of a motor vehicle, both subjects had open warrants in Howard County Maryland, and one subject had an additional warrant in Charles County.
