August 20, 2012 a trooper assigned to the Golden Ring Barrack was utilizing his vehicle equipped with an LPR. The Trooper received an LPR alert for suspended registration for a Vehicle Emissions Inspection Program violation. The trooper initiated a traffic stop on the Ford Crown Victoria and identified the driver who was not in possession of a license. Wanted checks were conducted which showed an open arrest warrant through the Baltimore Police Department for 2nd Degree Assault, Domestic Violence. The driver was arrested and transported to the Baltimore County Essex District Court Commissioner’s office where he was held on $10,000 bond. 

August 3, 2012 a trooper assigned to the John F. Kennedy Highway Barrack was utilizing a vehicle equipped with an LPR. During routine patrol, the trooper received an LPR alert for a stolen 2008 Chevrolet Truck. A registration check revealed the vehicle was stolen from a local business and a vehicle stop was conducted. Troopers took the operator in to custody without incident. The operator was identified and further investigation revealed the driver was an ex-employee of the company that owned the vehicle. Contact was made with the fleet manager who verified that the driver did not have permission to possess the vehicle. The driver was arrested and charged with theft of a motor vehicle, theft over $1,000 and unauthorized removal of property. The driver was subsequently transported to the Baltimore County Commissioner and later held on a $5,000 bond at the Baltimore County Detention Center.
