August 21, 2012 an LPR was being utilized by a trooper when a motor vehicle passed his location and registered an alert for a Suspended Vehicle Registration. MVA checks were also conducted and verified the tag suspension. A traffic stop was initiated on the driver of a 2001 Chevrolet. The investigation revealed that the tags are registered to a 1999 Chrysler Concord and the Chevrolet Blazer was unregistered and uninsured. The driver of the vehicle was identified and found to be driving on a suspended license. In addition, a wanted check revealed the driver had an open warrant through the Baltimore County Sheriff. The warrant was confirmed and the subject taken into custody without incident.

August 1, 2012 a trooper assigned to the Glen Burnie Barrack was utilizing a vehicle equipped with an LPR. The trooper was working stationary enforcement on I-695 when a motor vehicle passed his location and registered an alert for a Suspended Driver through the License Plate Reader (LPR). A traffic stop was initiated on a 2005 Silver Mitsubishi Galant and was occupied by two subjects. After contacting the driver, the trooper detected the odor of burnt marijuana and a search was conducted. As a result of the search 115.3gr of Marijuana, 250.5 pills of Oxycodone and $880 in cash were seized. Both subjects were arrested and charged.
