Post Falls man arrested for terroristic threats against police departments

A Post Falls man remains in jail after making terroristic threats against local police departments over the weekend.

Ryan McClintock posted videos on Facebook Saturday calling for “gangsters and people not afraid to die” to take over the Coeur d’Alene and Post Falls police departments. He claimed the departments were covering up pedophilia cases at two churches.

Both police departments went on high alert after the videos appeared online.

“We received information that this person was posting on social media and it was threats directly at the Coeur d’Alene police department and the Post Falls police department,” the police chief said.

McClintock was arrested Saturday evening after allegedly breaking windows at the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office. He appeared in court facing charges of destruction of property and making terroristic threats.

Prosecutors say McClintock posted several threatening videos that have since been deleted. They allege he intended to cause fear and harm due to the alleged cover-up.
