A 14-year-old schoolboy from Derbyshire set up a far-right chat group which encouraged fellow teenagers to launch terrorist attacks, a court has heard.

The youth, who cannot be named because of his age, set up and managed the channel on messaging app Telegram.

The channel was said to be of an extreme right-wing and "openly racist nature" and the youth boasted online that his criminal record would be cleared when he reached 18.

He vetted like-minded individuals before allowing them entry to private chat groups where there was discussion about "doing something" against ethnic minorities and talk about weapons, prosecutors said.

He downloaded a "leaderboard" of far-right killers and told members of one far-right group that he wanted to go down to his local skatepark and launch an attack.

What is described as an 'explosive device set to activate at a later time' was found at Wylie Park. On Friday morning Wylie Park Campground in Aberdeen post on their Facebook page that at approximately 8 am staff at Wylie Park located a suspicious object within the park boundaries.

They stated that out of an abundance of caution Wylie Park will be closed until further notice. The device was determined to be an explosive device.

Around 1 pm Wylie Park reopened then at 3 pm Storybook Land reopened. Dakota News Now is reporting that other city parks were also searched for possible devices and none were found.

U.S. troops based at an oil field in northeastern Syria came under rocket attack Monday, one day after U.S. jets launched airstrikes on facilities used by Iranian-backed militias in the Iraq-Syria border region.

There are no injuries and damage is being assessed. "We will provide updates when we have more information," Operation Inherent Resolve spokesman Colonel Wayne Marotto tweeted Monday afternoon.

U.S. forces used artillery to return fire at the positions from which the rockets were launched.

In a stunning about-turn in the devastating eight-month civil war in Ethiopia's northern Tigray region, the Ethiopian government declared an immediate and unilateral ceasefire after Tigrayan troops retook the regional capital Mekelle on Monday evening.

Tigrayan forces on Tuesday had not accepted the truce.

The Ethiopian military has been in control of much of Tigray since last November, when it launched a major assault on the region with the support of Eritrean soldiers and local ethnic militias in an effort to remove the region's ruling party, the Tigray People's Liberation Front (TPLF), from power. The armed wing of the TPLF, known as the Tigray Defense Forces, had steadily been gearing up for the offensive and in recent days kicked off a coordinated push to recapture Mekelle.

The Tigrayan counterattack was a big blow for Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, who had declared victory in late November last year when Ethiopia's military overran the city of a half-million people.

When FBI agents in San Diego seized the cell phone of a suspected white supremacist last year, they discovered text messages with a Georgia sheriff’s deputy boasting of racial violence and preparations for a civil war.

The text message chain, called “Shadow Moses,” between San Diego plumber Grey Zamudio, 33, and 28-year-old Cody Griggers, a former Marine and sheriff’s deputy in Wilkinson County, revealed plans to steal explosives, dry runs with illegal silencers and boasts of racial violence. In one text, Griggers said he hoped law enforcement and the military would join their side in the coming conflict.

“Our only saving grace is that for the time being they have not brainwashed the military completely,” Griggers wrote, according to court records.

Griggers, who was a military policeman stationed in San Diego until his honorable discharge in 2017, said he wished he could “go ahead and fast-forward so I can enjoy the suffering of the abortion that is the American population.”
